Singapore was an eccentric bubble, filled with people and cultures from all over the world. There was always something to do, from a yogathon that shut down the equivalent of Oxford Street to outdoor movie nights by Maria Bay or exploring an entire circuit of the island without leaving the green zone. The country had this permanent buzz to it that I think comes from being the hub of Asia. This also made it a great location to springboard to the rest of Asia, I was lucky enough to see the incredible lantern festival in Thailand.

On a day to day basis studying at NUS was a wonderful environment; there was a great choice of modules, the facilities were impressive (including an outdoor Olympic sized pool ) and everyone was so welcoming - locals and internationals.
