Profile

I am a Research Support Administrator, supporting the Earth Surface Science Institute (ESSI). I am also responsible for organising the external seminars for the Institute of Climate and Atmospheric Science (ICAS) and Sustainability Research Institute (SRI).

Prior to working at the university in my current role, I spent 6 years teaching French and Spanish at secondary and primary school level before leaving the profession to focus more on family life. I then spent almost two years as Research Administrator for a variety of projects within the School of Earth and Environment, namely COMET, CPOM, HyCRISTAL and MarineIce, before securing my current role providing administrative support to several institutes and the school as a whole.

My role as Research Administrator includes:

  • Communications (Twitter, SharePoint, website, newsletter, promotional materials)
  • Meeting, event and away day planning and support
  • Institute finances
  • ESSI Director support
  • Supporting the school by producing academic reports for annual review meetings
  • Supporting the School's Research and Innovation Committee
  • Supporting the School's REF 2021 submission
  • Organising and managing the external seminar series for ICAS and SRI
