Jayesh Phadtare

I completed PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. In my PhD, I studied the life cycle of monsoonal deep clouds over the Indian region. During this time, I also studied the role of orographic blocking in the 2015 South India floods. At the University of Leeds, I am working on the IMPROVE (Indian Monsoon PRecipitation over Orography: Verification and Enhancement of understanding) project as a PDRA. The project is funded by the Met Office Weather and Climate Science for Services Partnership (WCSSP) India programme. It is a collaborative project between the University of Leeds and the University of Reading. The aim of IMPROVE project is to study the monsoonal orographic rainfall over the Indian subcontinent.
