Fees
Postgraduate research fees are not regulated by the UK government so decisions on UK undergraduate fees do not apply to them. Our postgraduate research fees are set independently and reviewed on an annual basis.
The standard period of study for a full-time PhD is 3 years (5 years part-time) and you are strongly encouraged to try and submit your PhD within that time. You will therefore need to have funding to cover the cost of your fees and your living expenses for a minimum of 3 years for full-time study or 5 years part-time. Also, where the research projects undertaken requires expenditure on consumables, equipment or other resources an annual bench fee may be charged in addition to the academic fees.
