Research interests

I have been a PhD Student at the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) at the University of Leeds (supported by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education – CAPES, and the Federal Centre for Technological Education of Minas Gerais – CEFET-MG, Brazil) since November, 2015, and I expect to finish in October, 2019. My supervisors are Paul Timms and David Milne who integrate the Spatial Modelling and Dynamics Research Group at ITS. My current research focus on the transferability of the aerotropolis concept from Global North to Global South which has the title “Airport-driven development as part of urban and transport planning”. So far I have been carrying out an international survey on the airport websites which aims to identify the aerotropolis concept as a business model in their airport master plans, and also interviews with decision makers. My research interests also include airports, visions of future, transport policy and policy transfer.
