The GreenSpace project builds upon Space Hub Yorkshire’s development to connect the industrial sectors of space technology, green finance, and agriculture, and embed the use of space technology as a tool for implementing green finance solutions. GreenSpace brings together business and academic communities across these different sectors to facilitate innovation. The initiative provides support through dedicated staff and academic excellence with a view to unlocking economic growth and enabling world-class academic research across the UK.
GreenSpace aims to promote and facilitate the uptake of EO data and access additional opportunities by:
- Forging connections amongst the finance, space, and agriculture sectors in Yorkshire, and across the UK.
- Raising awareness of space-based data, its applications, and access methods.
- Demonstrating the applications of EO data in a variety of markets through industry and academic collaborative research projects.
- Connecting opportunities to providers, including grant and investment funding and longer-term product development collaborations.
- Identifying and tackling the barriers to the commercial use of Earth observation (EO) data.
