Profile
I am a PhD student funded by the Energy Demand Reduction Centre (EDRC), working within the Place theme. Under the broad heading of Tourism as a Barrier and Opportunity for Change, my research examines the impact of short term lettings (STLs) on domestic decarbonisation. I am using an in-depth single case study to explore how this use of housing affects energy interventions, with the aim of identifying opportunities to accellerate action.
My research builds on my professional background in energy reduction, which focused on domestic and commercial retrofit support through a range of UK and local government funded programmes, including One Stop Shop and Local Energy Advice Demonstration (LEAD) pilots for DESNZ. I have also worked at a community level to address climate change in Leeds through resident-led initiatives.
I also hold the position of Researcher for the Climate Evidence Unit, within the Priestley Centre for Climate Futures. This role provides an excellent platform to engage in a diverse range of evidence-led projects focussed on knowledge exchange with both public and private sectors.
I hold a Masters in Sustainability Consultancy from Leeds, and an Undergraduate Degree in International Relations from London Metropolitan University.
Research interests
