Pandhu Yuanjaya

Profile

I am a PhD researcher in environmental policy and governance at the Sustainability Research Institute, School of Earth, Environment and Sustainability, University of Leeds. My research explores how actors, policy networks, power relations, and coalition dynamics shape policy processes and influence sustainability-oriented policy change, with a particular focus on urban tourism governance in Indonesia. Situated within broader debates on sustainability in the Global South, my work adopts a decolonial perspective to examine how global sustainability frameworks are interpreted, contested, and institutionalised in decentralised and hybrid governance settings.

Before joining the University of Leeds, I spent a decade as a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I previously worked as a researcher at the Centre for Population and Policy Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada. My academic background includes a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, both with a focus on environmental policy and governance.

Research interests

My research interests include environmental governance, policy processes, and sustainability transitions, particularly in the Global South. My work focuses on how actors, policy networks, coalitions, and power shape sustainability-oriented policy change, drawing on decolonial perspectives and mixed-method approaches.
