Profile
I am a Supergen Energy Networks Research Fellow based in the Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) at the University of Leeds. My work for Supergen focusses on governance, decision-making and just transitions in relation to energy networks.
I am a social scientist whose previous research has explored decentralised approaches to governing resources and mitigating climate change, often with a focus on ownership and finance. Prior to joining the SRI I was a Research Fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Manchester, where I worked on studies of finance and the decarbonisation of social housing, city level climate action in the UK and internationally, community and local energy business models. My previous academic research includes work on alternative finance and crowdfunding, and on community land ownership in Scotland, and I held research posts at the Overseas Development Institute, the University of the Highlands and Islands, and Leeds Beckett University.
