Profile
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within The School of Food Science & Nutrition at The University of Leeds, working as a member of Dr Amin Sadeghpour’s research group on hybrid lipid-polymer electrospun scaffolds for cultivated meat manufacturing.
I completed my first degree in Pharmaceutical Science at Keele University, and was awarded the Keele Nanopharmaceuticals Prize in my final year. I completed my PhD in Biomedical Engineering with Keele University under the supervision of Professor Heidi Fuller at the Wolfson Centre for Inherited Neuromuscular Diseases at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, where the focus of my thesis was investigating downstream consequences of LMNA mutations in congenital muscular dystrophy. Following this, in 2023, I joined the University of Leeds as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Faculty of Biological Sciences, where I worked as part of Dr Scott Bowen’s laboratory group prior to my current position.
Research interests
My current research is focused on the development of hybrid lipid-fibre scaffolds for the manufacture of cultivated meat, and I have a particular interest in muscle biology and muscle stem cells.
