Profile
Ken Brockbank is a Cluster Development Manager with Space Hub Yorkshire, a regional space cluster organisation funded by UK Space Agency and based at the University of Leeds. SHY connects UK government, regional and local authorities, higher education and research institutions and commercial partners in the Space sector to grow the Space economy across the Yorkshire and Humber region. SHY fosters collaboration across the public and private sectors, building and strengthening the regions Space ecosystem, showcasing industrial and research capabilities to a national and international audience.
Ken’s career to date spans 38 years, including 12 years in the public sector, 9 of which were spent with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, where he was responsible for driving Foreign Direct Investment into the advanced manufacturing and engineering sector in West Yorkshire.
Ken’s 24 years of private sector experience includes 6 years in the wealth management and investments of high net-worth clients for an international banking group, 13 years were spent working in the fintech sector, the last 10 of which he spent building a consultancy and financial services support business, providing technical advisory, support, training, project management and design and implementation services to the professional and financial services industry.
