Biosphere Atmosphere Interactions
The Biosphere Atmosphere Group (BAG) conducts research on the interactions between the terrestrial and marine biospheres, the atmosphere, and human society. We are studying how climate and land-use change may affect ecosystems and how such changes would feedback on the local and global climate. Our work spans from the impacts of deforestation across the tropics to landscape restoration in the UK. We also measure and model changes to atmospheric composition and air quality, linking our findings to the impacts on both human health and climate. Find out more about our work at the BAG website.
Members of BAG have created the University-wide Leeds Ecosystem, Atmosphere and Forest Research Centre and led the establishment of Gair Wood, the University’s woodland creation project.
