How to apply
If you wish to be considered for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP), please submit an expression of interest form by 1st March 2026.
If you are eligible for the JJ/WBGSP, you will be nominated by the programme team and relevant information will be sent to you. You will then need to submit a separate application to JJ/WBGSP. The JJ/WBGSP application window is between 30 March 2026 - May 29 2026.
Who is eligible
If you are made an unconditional offer on the Sustainable Cities MSc or Sustainable Food Systems and Food Security MSc you may be eligible for the JJ/WBGSP scholarship. You must fulfill the following criteria:

Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned at least 3 years prior to the scholarship application deadline date

Be employed in development-related work in a paid full-time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application

Have at least three years of paid development related employment since earning a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent university degree)

Be a national of an eligible developing country

Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country
