Inaugural lecture: Professor Robin Lovelace

Robin Lovelace, Professor of Transport Data Science, will discuss his work developing the evidence needed for more effective transport planning.
The lecture will discuss what data science for transport planning involves, the methodological and empirical contributions that Professor Lovelace and his colleagues in the University of Leeds and beyond, have made to the field, and some of the impacts of the work that make it worthwhile.
Professor Lovelace will discuss milestones along the way, including instigating and leading the development of the Propensity to Cycle tool and follow-on projects including the recently developed Biclar tool for Greater Lisbon, the CRUSE tool for the Republic of Ireland and the ongoing Network Planning Tool for Scotland, new features of which will be demonstrated during the talk.
