How to apply
This bursary will be applied automatically to eligible students. A separate application is not required.
The funding you receive:

The first payment of £500 will be awarded in October 2025 after you fully complete the registration process in year one of your course and the second payment will be made in January 2026. Both payments will be paid directly into your bank account.

The scholarships do not have to be paid back and are in addition to the financial support you can receive from the government (such as the tuition fee loan or maintenance loan) and in addition to any bursary or scholarship received by the University (ie – Leeds Bursary)

To receive the bursary you must:

receive a reduced grade contextual offer through Access to Leeds, Realising Opportunities and/or because you live in a neighbourhood where there is low participation in higher education. Find out more about contextual admissions. Students who progress from the Interdisciplinary Science with Foundation Year BSc are also eligible for the award.
