Profile
Born in Srinagar, Kashmir, I completed my BTech in Civil Engineering and subsequently an MTech in Transportation Engineering and Planning at the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Srinagar. I am currently a PhD Scholar in the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at IIT Jodhpur. I was awarded the Commonwealth Split-Site Fellowship for 2025–26, which enables my year-long visit to the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds as a visiting scholar.
My research examines travel behaviour beyond conventional considerations of time and cost. I study how perceptions, concerns, habitual tendencies, and unobserved heterogeneity influence everyday mobility decisions. My work also engages with questions of equity, particularly gendered mobility constraints and the ways in which uneven travel environments reflect broader social patterns.
My doctoral research focuses on travel satisfaction and its relationship with well-being, aiming to understand how routine travel experiences shape mobility outcomes and quality of life. This work contributes to broader efforts to integrate psychological and experiential dimensions into transport behaviour analysis.
