QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017
The School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds has had another successful year in the 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The annual survey evaluated 3,551 universities globally, on a range of subject areas and disciplines. The School has achieved top positions in the following areas:
The rankings by subject are based on criteria such as academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.

- =3rd in the UK and Top 20 in the World (Earth Sciences)
- Top 15 in the UK (Environmental Sciences)
- Top 10 in the World for Research Impact (Earth Sciences)
- Top 10 in the UK for Academic Reputation (Environmental Sciences and Earth Sciences)
