Profile
I am a first year PHD student, researching the role of urban agriculture in nature recovery policy.
Along side the PHD, I am a Teaching follow supporting the Sustainable Cities and Sustainable Food Systems programmes. I was the recipient of the MSc Sustainable Cities Prize for best overall performance (2022), as well as receiving the Leeds Partnership Awards Overall Partnership Award in 2023.
Before joining the University of Leeds I had a successful career in global procurement, with experience of delivering highly complex and regulatory governed projects across a wide range of categories (with a particular interest in sustainability and corporate social responsibility). I also have significant experience working with grass roots community groups in Hull and East Riding on a voluntary basis.
Research interests
I am interested in research related to urban agriculture, sustainable city systems and nature recovery. My research perspective has developed from insights across my academic, industry and community experience
I have a multi-disciplinary background and work with a range of research methods, including qualitative methods (such as multisensory ethnography, walking interviews, thematic analysis) as well quantitative methods (surveys, data analysis).
