Profile
I am a Meteorologist working with Tanzania Meteorological Agency in Tanzania, a holder of MSc in Meteorology (Nairobi University- Kenya) and BSc in Environmental Sciences and Management (SUA- Tanzania). I have 12 years working experience in fostering Weather and climate prediction, data processing, analysis and its application for various social economic activities. I have gained management experience in managing observation and exchange of data at National, regional and international level which has contributed to continual implementation Severe Weather Forecasting Demonstration Project (SWFDP) and operational of early warning system. Demonstrable track record of building durable links with government and international partners. Nationally, managed to collaborate and support the government's Disaster Management Department responsible agency for DRR in Tanzania. Internationally, effectively coordinated collaboration in capacity development projects funded by DFID, WB, WMO and UNDP which has brought tangible benefits to TMA, such as introduction of a Multi Hazard Early Warning Service and Lead the implementation SCIPEA project. I have gained regional and international expertise in organizing and coordinating conferences, meetings and workshops.
Research interests
Climate change and Variabilty and its Impact to social economic activities, Operational Meteorology , Extreme Weather and Climate events, Disaster Risk Reduction and Socio-economic benefits of Weather and Climate.
