Profile
I am a Research Fellow in Palaeobiology in the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds. I am a member of the Earth Surface Science Institute and the Palaeo@Leeds Research Group.
I have a PhD in Palaeontology, MSc in Paleobiology & Geobiology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany) and BSc in Geological Engineering from the Middle East Technical University (Turkey). Prior to my current position at the University of Leeds, I worked as a Research Fellow at Universität Hamburg (Germany) on diversity change across the Permian-Triassic mass extinction. I am a taxonomic editor of the MolluscaBase.
Research interests
My current research focuses on change in food-web structure and biodiversity dynamics in marine communities across mass extinction events. My research also encompasses Paleozoic to Mesozoic biodiversity, palaeoecology, classification, and phylogeny of gastropods and bivalves.
