Dr Alex Krause

Profile

I am a biogeochemist who is interested in the co-evolution of life and the Earth through geologic time. I build numerical models of the Earth system in order to explore the changes to the surface environment (oceans-atmosphere-upper crust) through time and investigate what processes might have driven these changes. I am also interested in understanding how Earth’s changing environment has affected the evolution of complex life, and vice-versa, and what this might mean for the habitability of other planetary bodies in general.
