Profile
I am a visiting researcher based at the School of Earth and Environment. I joined the NFFDY summer program 2024 on the Applications of Data Driven Fluid Dynamics. I am an early career lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at University of Greenwich. I obtained my PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 from the University of Liverpool within the Biomechanical Engineering Group studying the influence of fluid-structure interaction on human eye biomechanics. After my PhD, I worked as a research associate at the University of Liverpool Fluids Engineering Research Group on Rheological characterisation of functionalised dipeptides, yield stress and viscoelastic fluids. After that, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for two years at the Transient Flow Laboratory (TFL) at Liverpool John Moores University conducting research on turbulent pulsatile flows using direct numerical simulations (DNS).
Responsibilities
- Visiting Researcher
- National Fellowships in Fluid Dynamics
- NFFDY Summer Programme 2024
Research interests
My research interests and expertise to date encompass a variety of topics related to fluid mechanics. More specifically current research interests include:
- Fluid structure interaction, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and Direct numerical simulation (DNS)
- Studying turbulence characteristics of pulsatile flows and its role in understanding blood flow dynamics in large arteries.
- Rheological characterisation of viscoelastic and complex fluids.
- Biomechanics of the human body that involve fluid dynamics, especially ocular biomechanics.
- Food hydrocolloids and hydrogels texture analysis.
- Data-driven fluid dynamics
- Digital Image and Volume Correlation
- Renewable energy harvesting, and heat transfer.
I also serve as a reviewer to Soft Matter, Acta Biomaterialia, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, and Applied Sciences journals.
