Research interests

I undertake research on the paleoenvironmental records preserved in the caves of northern England along with aspects of karst processes, hydrology and geohazard development. I am intereted in understanding young peolpes learning in environental education with a particular emphasis on trying to understand young peoples views on environmental issues, especially around resource usage and responsibility.

Student education

I teach across our geological and environmental courses with an emphasis on first year modules and enabling the successful transition to University learning. I also have a large fieldwork teaching commitment and supervise undergraduate dissertation projects across the school and faculty.
