Dr Na Yan

Profile

Na Yan has been a teaching fellow in Computational Science at the School of Geography since 2023. Meanwhile, she has been working as a research fellow at the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds since 2015. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Earth & Environmental Dynamics from King’s College London in 2015, fully funded by a King’s Graduate School Studentship and a King’s Overseas Research Studentship. She obtained a B.Sc. (Geography) from Beijing Forestry University and a M.Sc. (Geography) from Beijing Normal University. Her research interest is to bridge the gaps between field observations and prediction of earth surface processes and landscape evolutions on different temporal and spatial scales through applying various numerical modeling techniques and statistics, and to develop modeling packages that can be used to guide policy-making, hazard assessment, palaeo-environmental reconstruction, and sub-surface hydrocarbon reservoir and groundwater aquifer appraisal.
