Dr Na Yan

Profile

Na Yan is a research fellow at the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds since she was awarded a Ph.D. in Earth & Environmental Dynamics from King’s College London in 2015. She obtained a B.Sc. (Geography) from Beijing Forestry University and a M.Sc. (Geography) from Beijing Normal University. In 2010, she joined the Earth & Environmental Dynamics Group at the Department of Geography, King’s College London for a Ph.D., fully funded by a King’s Graduate School Studentship and a King’s Overseas Research Studentship. Her research interest is to bridge the gaps between field observations and prediction of morphological and sedimentary processes in aeolian and fluvial systems on different temporal and spatial scales through applying various numerical modelling techniques and statistics, and to develop modelling packages that can be used to guide policy making, hazard assessment, palaeo-environmental reconstruction, and sub-surface hydrocarbon reservoir and groundwater aquifer appraisal.
