Pragya Singh

Profile

I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds. I am a member of the Earth Surface Science Institute and the Cohen Geochemistry Research group. My research focuses on understanding how Fe mineralisation controls the marine phosphate reservoir and its links to planetary oxygenation in the early Earth.

I have a PhD in Sedimentology from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (India), MSc and BSc in Geology from Banaras Hindu University (India). I have been a visiting research scholar at the Graz University of Technology, Austria, and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India. Prior to my current position at the University of Leeds, I worked as an Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (India).

Research interests

My current research interest centre around:

  • Experimental studies to understand nucleation and crystallization pathways of Fe-rich clays in redox sensitive environments.
  • Impact of Fe-mineralisation on nutrient cycles in redox-sensitive environments across geological time scale.
