Dr David Ferguson

Profile

I am a volcanologist and geochemist with research interests in various aspects of magmatic activity, from the generation of magmas in the Earth’s mantle to the interactions between volcanoes and tectonic, climatic, and environmental processes. I primarily use geochemical methods but also work closely with modellers and collaborators in other relevant disciplines. Previous and on-going projects include research on volcanic systems in Ethiopia, Chile, Hawaii, Oregon and at the Juan de Fuca ridge in the NE Pacific.

I am currently programme leader for the BSc (Hons) Geology degree.
