Jason Lowe took up a part-time professorship in the School and Priestley International Centre for Climate in March 2017. He is also Head of Climate Services at the Met Office Hadley Centre and Deputy Director of the Hadley Centre.

His research activities focus on better understanding the issue of potentially dangerous climate changes and the constraints on future pathways of emissions and climate change.
