Profile
I am a PGR based in the Ecology and Global Change research group in the School of Geography who is funded by the NERC Panorama DTP. My research investigates future climate effects on trail networks and potential adaptation strategies for Arctic communities. These trail networks are informal pathways which connect remote towns and villages and are regularly used for activities that are pivotal to these communities’ way of life. This research, which will be focused in western Greenland, will use climate model scenarios and trail access models to determine under what weather conditions trails become unusable. This information will be combined with traditional Inuit knowledge to determine optimal adaptation responses.
