Profile
I am a Research Fellow in Global Conservation at the Sustainability Research Institute. I am assessing the impacts of European conservation and sustainability initiatives on global biodiversity, carbon stocks and socio-economic outcomes.
Previously, I worked as a EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathways Fellow at the University of Surrey, where I investigated the environmental effects of bioenergy production from terrestrial biomass in Europe.
I completed my PhD at the University of Surrey, where I explored biodiversity trends in productive landscapes on different spatial and temporal scales using statistical models. I focused on the effects of land use and land-use intensity on biodiversity in agricultural and forest systems, improving knowledge about the sustainability of land use and managament practices.
Research interests
I am interested in using innovative methods to understand how land can be used to provide food, energy and other resources, while both conserving and restoring biodiversity.
I am currently working on the following projects:
Just transformation of food-farming systems: reconciling net zero and other land-use ambitions (JUSTLANZ)
Safeguarding biodiversity and carbon-rich forest networks in Europe (SafeNet)
