Specialist laboratories

Soil physical analysis
We have a 25 position closed system laboratory permeameter enabling the measurement of saturated permeability of undisturbed soil samples; laser diffraction particle size analyser for characterising the particle size distribution of a sample; sieve sets and sieve shaker.

Tree ring analysis
We have a purpose designed laboratory for processing samples for tree ring measurements using a Lintab6 tree ring measurement station and extracting cellulose samples for isotope analysis.

Microscopy facility 
The microscope laboratory is equipped with a range of high powered and low powered microscopes for use in teaching and research.
