Patrice Mwithaga

Profile

I completed my degree in Human Biology at the University of California, San Diego in 2018 and then moved on to complete my MSc in Nutrition at the University of Leeds in 2019. I thereafter started my PhD at the University of Leeds in October 2021 to focus on research geared toward food choice among adolescents, looking at how food choice can be changed to healthier options.

Research interests

My research interests include food choices among adolescents and how social norms affect their food choices. My PhD project focuses on the development of a nudge-based intervention targeting adolescent students within a food environment in order to shift food choice. My project will be based on choice architecture and the dual process models of choice behaviour, and the possible effect of this intervention on food choice over time.
