Profile

After studying Food Science BSc Hons at the University of Leeds I went on to have a successful career in the food industry. I gained a wide range of commercial experience across industries from SMEs to global companies, the third sector and higher education.   

My experience within the food industry includes working for companies such as M&S, Thornton’s Plc, Nestle, Dr Oetker and Greencore.  My areas of expertise include Project Management, Marketing, Business Development, Branding and Product Development. Within my commercial roles I collaborated with a range of departments including R&D, production, technical, innovation, packaging, sales, marketing, logistics, quality assurance and design. Having worked in branding, innovation and product development I have a keen interest in NPD, innovation and renovation. 

Previous roles within the University include FS&N Employability and Study Abroad Officer and Project Manager of various projects such as; Pebble Pad (Digital Educations Systems), LUBS Goldman Sach’s 10k Small Businesses Programme and EPSRC Inclusion Matters.  

Responsibilities

• Module lead for Industrial Placements (BSc and MSci)
• Module lead for Functionality of Ingredients in Food Design
• Module lead for Food Product Development
