Profile
I am an isotope geochemist with an interest in reconstructing past oceanic redox states and their evolution through our Earth's history.
I have a PhD in Earth Science from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (India). My doctoral work focused on the geochemical and isotopic investigation of organic-rich shales to reconstruct the depositional environment, quantify the areal extent of ocean euxinia and evaluate their influence in nitrogen cycling during the Proterozoic Eon.
I have also served a short term as Project Scientist in the Hydrothermal Exploration Group at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa, India.
Currently, I am working as a NERC-funded Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Earth Surface Science Institute, University of Leeds, under the Supervision of Prof. Simon Poulton and Prof. Benjamin Mills. The work aims to reconstruct the regional and global environmental conditions during the Early Cambrian Sinsk Event.
