Launch of the Leeds Doughnut and City Planning Process

Join the launch of the Leeds Doughnut and City Planning Process to explore the power of Doughnut Economics in building a safe and thriving Leeds.

Join Climate Action Leeds for the launch of the Leeds Doughnut and City Planning Process to explore the power of Doughnut Economics in building a safe and thriving Leeds!

Hosted by TV and radio broadcaster Peg Alexander, as well as headline talks from Imandeep Kaur, Co-founder and Director of Civic Square, Birmingham and Leonora Grcheva, Cities and Regions Lead at the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL).

Doughnut Economics is a groundbreaking set of ideas that can support our journey to a  socially just, zero-carbon and nature-friendly Leeds by the 2030s. The Leeds City Portrait is our first snapshot of where the city is at and will help us start our city planning process. The Leeds Doughnut team is a growing network of people across the city who want to support this transition and is part of Climate Action Leeds.

Our launch event is set to be a day of fully interactive group activities to imagine this new future for Leeds, with workshops and discussions on what a safe and thriving Leeds means for everyone in practice. We’ll hear from doughnut economics experts from the city strategic level down to the community scale to understand the power of the doughnut in practice, as well as present our first Leeds City Portrait.  The afternoon will put this all into action where you will get to test the doughnut process with real life examples, together. We will be joined in-person by DEAL's Community and Arts Lead, Rob Shorter.

Location: Open Innovations, Leeds, 3rd Floor, Munro House, Duke St, Leeds, LS9 8AG, UK

In person places are limited, so please only book an in-person ticket if you are sure you can attend.
