Profile
Responsible for growing the quality, quantity and woldwide impact of ForestPlots.net, a sophisticated web-based application for managing, sharing, and analysing forest demographic, biodiversity, soil and carbon data; focussing on the wold's most species-rich and carbon-dense tropical forests in Amazonia, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Share in-depth technical knowledge with colleagues worldwide to ensure that partners adopt consistent and high quality methods
- Develop and provide one-to-one and one-to-many training workshops to ForestPlots users in English and Spanish
- Co-ordinate and organise data management progress for international partners and projects
- Enter, code and quality control new tropical forest plot data using ForestPlots.net and SQL
- Compile, organise, interpet and analyse ecological and spatial data using ArcGIS, R, Access, SQL
- Support the RAINFOR, AfriTRON, T-FORCES and MonANPeru research projects
- Participate in fieldwork in tropical environments
- Present ForestPlots to external organizations in the UK and worldwide
- Manage all project websites
- Create, update and maintain all project maps
- Provide support to the ForestPlots.net Database Manager
