Andy Turner


Andy is a Research Officer with a role that primarily involves developing research grant proposals, delivering research projects and writing up results for publication. Andy also develops and deliver courses, tutors students, supervises student led research and moderates assessment on our Geographical Information Systems MSc and Geography BA programmes.

Andy aims to help provide functional diversity support and promote cultural diversity as part of a newly set up GeoInclusive Task Force in the school.

I am a member of the four SoG research clusters: Ecology and Global ChangeRiver Basin Processes and ManagementSocial Justice, Cities, Citizenship and The Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy. I am a deputy director of The Centre for Computational Geography - an interdisciplinary University centre founded in 1992 by professors Stan Openshaw and Phil Rees. I am involved in establishing a local node of The UK Reproducibility Network with colleagues across the University reaching out to researchers in other nearby institutions.
