Profile
I have completed my doctoral research at UCL, and my ethnographic work focused on the relationship between Syrian refugees and Lebanese hashish farming communities in the central and northern Biqa'a valley.
I conducted 17 months of fieldwork in the camps and villages of the region in 2019 – 20. My work looks at rural labour organisation and refugee/camp governance, with a special focus on gender and families. Prior to this, I worked in the humanitarian sector in Palestinian camps and gatherings throughout Lebanon. I am currently conducting research into cash assistance programmes to Syrian refugees in Jordan.
