Profile

With a degree in Biology, a master's in Ecology and Conservation, I work as data co-ordinator of the ForestPlots.net project. A web-based application for managing, sharing, and analysing tropical tree forests dynamics. Supporting primarily the SECO initiative, a project funded by NERC aimed at resolving the current and future carbon dynamics of the dry tropics.

During my academic journey, I joined a research group in Ecology at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, Brazil, coordinating a study that monitored ecological succession in forest gaps of a floodplain in a Brazilian savannah. My interest in ecology later led me to work with the Plant Ecology group at the State University of Mato Grosso, Brazil, investigating rings of tree species on the Amazon southern border.

Currently, as data coordinator for the ForestPlots.net project, I support research groups that make part of the SECO project. Acting as the primary point of contact for SECO partners who work in dry forests and savannas around the world, as well as in all forest ecosystems in Brazil. I assist and advise research groups with tree data management of long-term ecological plots. My main duties are to grow the quality, quantity, and impact of Forest Plots database through direct support our partners with their data management needs, mainly related to data organization, accuracy, quality and uploading.
