Profile
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Geography, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. My current project, "Losing their Cool", focuses on investigating the role of melting and refreezing in the accumulation area of high-altitude Himalayan glaciers. It involves conducting field studies on Khumbu Glacier, Nepal, to understand subsurface melting and refreezing processes and their role in glacier warming and mass loss under a changing climate.
Previously, I worked on glacier energy and mass balance modelling in the Western Himalaya, contributing to a deeper understanding of the region’s cryospheric changes. My experience includes fieldwork monitoring glaciers, setting up automatic weather stations, and collecting in situ data to support glacio-hydrological modelling. I have also worked on assessing climate sensitivity and surface meteorological characteristics in glacierized catchments.
