Profile
I am a third year PhD student in the Sustainability Research Institute and a Priestley Climate Scholar at the Priestley Centre for Climate Futures.
My research focuses on the human dimension of climate change and disasters, particularly examining vulnerability, resilience, and adaptation in context-specific ways. I explore how individuals and communities perceive, experience, cope with, respond to, manage, and adapt to climate change and disasters. My role as a Priestley Climate Scholar at the Priestley Centre for Climate Futures provides opportunities to furhter develop my skills and interest in these areas.
I am currently on a research visit to the Human-Environment Relations Working Group of Prof. Dr. Matthias Garschagen at the School of Geography, Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany, collaborating on research related to vulnerability, resilience, and adaptation, which complements my ongoing PhD research.
Prior to joining Sustainability Research Institute in 2022, I worked as a Research Associate at the School of Public Administration at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. There, I contributed to a National Natural Science Foundation of China-funded project focused on User-Generated Content, Intelligent Mining, and Emergency Management Decision Support Research in Disaster Emergencies. Additionally, I worked with the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management-University of Peshawar, Provincial Disaster Management Authority-Pakistan, and ACF International Pakistan on a project: Disaster Risk Reduction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. I also contributed to projects funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan's National Research Program for Universities, addressing 'Issues, Dynamics, and Implications of Disaster Management in Pakistan' and 'Multi-Hazards, Vulnerabilities, Coping Capacities, Risk, and Resilience Assessment of District Peshawar, Pakistan.'
