Profile
From September 2024, I have commenced a 1 year secondment as the School’s Research Support Manager.
This secondment builds on my extensive prior experience within the School, including a 0.5 FTE role as Deputy Research Support Manager, a 1 year maternity cover role of the Research Support Manager, and a decade as a Research Support Administrator and Project Officer, where I have specifically supported two of the School’s institutes, (IAG and SRI) and one centre, Geosolutions Leeds.
Prior to working at Leeds, for 9 years, I worked on a number of UK Government and European funded projects to support the retention, promotion and progression of women in science, engineering, technology and maths (STEM), and also worked in marketing in the advanced composites industry.
I was the School's Equality and Inclusion coordinator (stepping down in 2019), a member of the Faculty E&I committee, and a member of the Faculty and University Athena SWAN self assessment teams.
My current role includes:
- Being a member of the School's Research and Innovation Committee (SRIC), Faculty Research and Innovation Committee (FRIC) and School Steering Committee
- Supporting the School's preparedness activities for the next REF, in 2029, alongside the academic lead
- Lead and develop key processes to improve research support
- Manage the School’s Research Support Administration team
