Profile
Piroska is an Associate Professor in The School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds. She started teaching in 2010 as a lecturer. Prior to that she did a PhD on numerical modelling of fluid flow within heterogeneous petroleum reservoirs such as flow through layered sequences, across partially-sealing faults and around wells, followed by a period of postdoctoral research in geodynamical modelling of lithospheric deformation. Piroska has worked on mathematical modelling of a range of physical processes. Her main research focuses on the development and use of computational methods to improve the understanding of fluid flow in porous media. She has worked on the development and use of direct and inverse computational methods to improve the understanding of fluid flow in unconventional reservoirs such as shale gas reservoirs and to determine unknown flow properties in such reservoirs.
