Be Curious: family open day at the University of Leeds
- Date: Saturday 18 May 2024, 10:00 – 16:00
- Location: University of Leeds
- Cost: Free
Each year at Be Curious, we turn the campus into a hive of free, family-friendly activities. Come along and get hands on with the research that happens right here in Leeds.
Attention all aspiring artists, scientists, engineers and beyond! Be Curious has something for you. Dive into our programme and find your next adventure at Be Curious.
Researchers from the Faculty of Environment include:
- Dr C Scott Watson sharing the fascinating world of earthquakes and volcanoes
- Catherine Homoky with the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission creating pictures of a nature and climate-friendly future
- Dr Robin Hayward showing how trees and forests grow from seeds.
They will host interactive stalls alongside many other researchers of the arts, health, literacy and science.
What’s new this year?
We want Be Curious to be enjoyed by everyone, which is why we’re introducing a quiet hour for visitors who prefer a calmer environment. Between 10am and 11am, the number of visitors will be limited to allow you to move around campus at your own pace.
You’ll need a ticket to enter the quiet hour. You can book before the event or on the day if we have any spaces.
