- Thesis title: 'Microplastics in marine sediments, and their impact on benthic community function’
- Supervisors: Dr Clare Woulds, Dr Julie Peacock
Profile
I am a doctoral researcher at the School of Geography, University of Leeds, and my research focuses mainly on microplastic pollution in marine environments and its effects on benthic ecosystem functions. I have completed M.Sc Zoology from SRTM University, Nanded, MH, India and started my research journey with CSIR- National Institute of Oceanography, Goa. Where I was looking at benthic ecology and taxonomy. As a part of projects, I have participated in International Research Cruises and gained knowledge of onboard sampling methodologies. I have also worked at Goa University on MoEF & CC, Govt of India-sponsored project entitled ‘The Herpetofauna of Western Ghats of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka’, India.
