Juliana Novaes

Profile

I am currently undertaking a four-year integrated MSc and PhD program in Data Analytics and Society. My studies are part of the Centre for Doctoral Training and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

I have an interdisciplinary academic background and my core interests lie in the quantification of uncertainty and the promotion of transparency in data analytics for social science. My PhD project focuses on transparency in data-driven government, particularly within the context of Adult Social Care. By integrating additional publicly accessible aggregated data sources provided by the Connected Bradford initiative and Leicestershire County Council, the PhD’s objective is to establish a rigorous and reliable empirical analysis framework. This involves applying methodologies for uncertainty quantification and explainability to build robust data analysis from public services.
