Profile
I am a Lecturer in Data Science of Transport at the Institute for Transport Studies. My work focuses on Data Science, Micromobility, Sustainable Transport, Geospatial Information Science, and Geodemographics. I completed my PhD in Geography at the University of Leeds in 2021, where I focused on understanding micromobility systems and urban dynamics. My doctoral thesis developed advanced models to analyze and predict urban travel flow and demand.
Research interests
My research lies at the intersection of Data Science, Applied AI, Geography and Transport Modelling. I am interested in various facets of transport and geography systems, including but not limited to:
• New and Emerging Forms of Data: Investigating novel data sources and their applications in urban mobility and transport planning.
• Micromobility: Analyzing the role and impact of micromobility solutions, such as bike-sharing and e-scooters, on urban transport networks.
• Geodemographics and GeoComputation: Applying computational techniques to analyze spatial data and demographic patterns, enhancing the understanding of urban environments.
• Graph Theory and Data Visualization: Utilizing graph-based methods to visualize and interpret complex datasets related to urban and transport systems.
I focus on blending traditional data sources with new, emerging forms of data to support accessible and inclusive transport management and urban planning. My work involves extensive use of diverse data types, including GPS, Track and Trace, social media, surveys, and demographic data. Through my research, I have made both methodological and applied contributions to the field of transport geography. By leveraging these diverse data sources, I aim to develop innovative solutions that address contemporary urban transport challenges, making transport systems more efficient, sustainable, and user-friendly.
