Profile

I am a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds in the Choice Modelling Center (CMC), Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), where my work is primarily focused on developing new behavioural models that combine insights from econometrics, machine learning, and psychology to advance our understanding of human decision-making. Prior to this role, I was a Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in the Machine Learning for Smart Mobility (MLSM) group, during which I led the project "Econometric Machine Learning for Better Heterogeneity Representation (Econ-ML)". There, I worked on advanced discrete choice models with generative machine learning, public transport route choice modelling using smart card data, integration of household travel surveys with smart card data to quantify reporting errors in self-reported trips, and rail traffic management and simulation. I completed my Ph.D. at the American University of Beirut (AUB), focusing on integration of machine learning with discrete choice models to better predict and understand decision-makers’ choices.
