Molecular Nutrition and Metabolic Health

Our research explores how nutrients interact with molecular and cellular systems to influence health throughout life. We study how diet affects gene expression, metabolic pathways, and physiological functions, with a strong focus on translating findings into practical strategies for preventing and managing diet-related diseases.

Nutrition, Metabolism and Disease Prevention

This theme investigates how nutrients influence metabolic regulation and health, with a focus on non-communicable diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, liver disease, and cancer. Furthermore, we focus on immunological aspects of disease prevention. Using molecular, clinical, and epidemiological approaches, we study nutrient-gene interactions, epigenetics, and the gut–metabolism axis to inform global health strategies.

Digestion, Microbiome and Gut Health

We examine the interactions between diet, digestive physiology, and the gut microbiome, focusing on their impact on systemic health and metabolic outcomes. Our research explores microbial diversity, fermentation by-products, and gut barrier function, using advanced analytical tools to develop dietary interventions that support health and resilience.
