Paul Kay

I’m a hydrologist with a specific interest in water quality and work mainly on emerging water pollutants, like plastics and pharmaceuticals. My teaching on the MSc in River Basin Dynamics and Management with GIS mainly involves work on water quality, including field and laboratory studies. I also teach professional development and, as well as being an academic, I have previously worked in environmental consultancy and the water industry.

The MSc course covers a range of topics that are of great contemporary interest to me personally and which will be at the forefront of water management in the coming years, including better management of flooding and the health of the water environment.

For the MSc we welcome people from a variety of academic and workplace backgrounds; many degree subject areas are highly relevant to water management and work experience can provide knowledge and skills that will allow you to progress academically.

Our highly qualified and motivated students are valued greatly by employers in the sector.
