The overarching goal of PATH2ZERO is to advance the transition towards a net-zero, climate-resilient transport sector by creating a transparent, consistent, comprehensive, and user-friendly knowledge base of data, policies, methodologies, and tools to assist the climate community in developing, evaluating, and benchmarking diversified, granular, and customized net-zero transport pathways, incorporating cross-sectoral assessments (energy production, industry, residential and commercial buildings, waste sector, agriculture) and fostering international collaborations in a single, unified effort. Net-Zero is considered the zero-sum of GHG emissions and may refer to a zero-sum across emitting entities, sectors, and countries. Climate-resilient refers to both, being closer to net-zero as this requires less resilience capacity for coping with climate change as well as an appropriate infrastructure or system that allows for enhanced coping, while being net-zero.
